According to the latest analysis published by ICIS, the country remains a key player in the international chemical industry, thanks to a unique combination of geographical location, entrepreneurial dynamism and population growth. The downstream sector has achieved world-class excellence, serving key sectors such as automotive, construction and food packaging. However, analysis highlights a crucial issue: heavy dependence on raw material imports (upstream). Despite its leadership in the production of finished products, Turkey still imports most of its virgin polymers, representing one of the main markets for resin producers in the Middle East and the US.
