It does not come close to the record of the golden years, but it confirms the results of the last edition: K2025 concludes today in Düsseldorf with over 175,000 professional visitors from 160 countries, according to data released by the organizers. This is in line with the 177,000 visitors of K2022, but still far from the 230,000 of 2016 or the 242,000 recorded in 2007, the true absolute record for the German event. The comparison, perhaps, makes little sense, given that the market has changed and, in recent years, the trade fair offerings have increased internationally. What is certain is that the pavilions were crowded again this year, and beyond the absolute number of visitors, what matters is the willingness to invest of the operators who passed through the turnstiles. And on this point, it is still too early to draw conclusions.Three out of four visitors were not German, and among the foreign visitors, one in three came from non European countries: 6,300 visitors from China alone, a similar number from India, and 10,000 from the United States and Brazil. Otherwise, the fair confirms its importance as a showcase for the sector, with 3,275 exhibitors from 66 countries, spread across the entire exhibition grounds, which are still too large to be fully visited in just eight days. The organizers claim, in addition to the numbers, also the level of visitor satisfaction, measured through surveys conducted at the fair. According to preliminary results, 95% of those who attended K reported having achieved their goals, and 98% rate the product and service offerings as excellent or very positive. “The context in which we operate remains extremely challenging,” comments Ulrich Reifenhäuser, chairman of the K 2025 Exhibitor Advisory Committee. “But it is precisely in moments like these that the strength of our industry emerges. Every three years, the global plastics sector comes together here, and for good reason: K is the place where innovations are born, partnerships are formed, and visions become reality.”The dates of the next edition were also announced: from October 18 to 25, 2028, again in Düsseldorf.
