The “Law Save the Sea”has been approved definitely yesterday by the Senate. It allows the fishers that collect plastic from the Seawith the net to bring it to the port. Here the Sea authorities have to receive in specific ecologic areas and start the recycling. Up to now, the fishers were obbliged to throw back the collected plastic in the sea in order to avoid to be denounced for illegal transportation of waste.

The law “Save the Sea”, presented in Year 2018 by the Ministry of the environment Sergio Costa, is valid also for the lakes and the rivers. The operation is free of charge for the fisher.the management costs are covered by a specific component to be added to the waste fee.  With a specific decree  it will be possible to fix the criteria to reward the masters of th Fishing vessels in this collection activity.
